A walking workshop around the village with Ali Harwood who poses the question who might have lived in houses like these. He will share some suitable poems and you will have a chance to write your own.

Ali Harwood is an artist, poet, writer and teacher. Quite deservedly he was awarded Artist/Creative of the Year at the Liverpool City Region’s Culture and Creativity Awards Ceremony in March 2023.

As an artist, Ali has received commissions from clients including Cammell Laird, British Antarctic Survey and Sherdley Primary School. Ali’s art has been exhibited in locations such as the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum, Liverpool Parish Church, Birkenhead Priory and Western Approaches HQ. Ali’s work is collected by clients nationally and internationally.

As a poet, Ali’s work is published and performed widely. He enjoys being a guest poet and he hosts and organises Liver Bards – a popular poetry night in Liverpool.

As a writer, Ali has written the poetic picture book ‘Liverpool Liver Birds’ which is well-received around the world. He has many more books planned.

As a teacher, Ali regularly visits schools, businesses and community groups. He is a former deputy headteacher and classroom teacher with over 20 years’ experience.
