Wirral Poetry Festival 2026
3 & 4 October
Welcome to two days full of poetic events and activities for everyone to enjoy.
The Festival believes in the transformative power of poetry and hopes this weekend will inspire your creativity. The Festival aims to be a welcoming place whoever you are and whatever your experience of poetry.
Most Festival events are FREE and Port Sunlight is only a short train journey from Liverpool or Chester. You can enjoy a wide range of poetry with readings, poetry walks, a poetry slam and activities for children. Our Poetry Hub will be in the Church Hall on Bridge Street. Events will also take place in Bebington Library, the Lady Lever Art Gallery and Poetry on the Green will take place on the field next to the gallery. There will be a chance to meet new and established poets, find our about local groups and opportunities to write and share your work.
The Festival is run by volunteers and holds events throughout the year, such as online workshops and poetry picnics.
