What would you like to take home from Port Sunlight’s Lady Lever Art Gallery?
The Wirral Poetry Festival invite you to take part in this year’s Poetry Tour of the gallery by submitting poems about the items on display.
Our theme this year is Home? and so we would like you to explore the artifacts: the furniture, the crockery all those knick-knacks, even the mantlepiece to sit them on, whatever you see that may make a place a home.
You may write about how they might have appeared in their original home, how their owners might have related to them, or how they would look in your own home. What is it that draws you to them? The choice is as wide and varied as the objects themselves.
- Poems can be up to 14 lines
- Must be the poet’s original work
- Under 16s are welcome to submit but only through a parent or carer
- Must be family friendly
Successful poets will be invited to read their poems at the tour of the gallery during the Festival Weekend at 2pm on Sunday 4 October.
Please make your submissions by 1 August to:
